ARTIST PROFILE:
I draw much of my inspiration from the natural environment. I am constantly fascinated by the patterns I see within nature, sometimes visual sometimes intellectual. Sometimes the patterns seem to become metaphors for the interrelated nature of all things; explaining how all living things are dependent upon each other, rock, soil, wind, water and the sun’s light and warmth. As humans we are also woven into the pattern of the landscape and dependent on a balanced environment.

Paint me a picture with colours that capture my imagination,

show me that thing I long to find, that memory, that place, that idea.

Put charcoal to paper, put brush to canvas.

Make the lines dance and the colours sing.

Let me look with eyes that marvel at the illusion that seems so real

and a heart that skips with delight

because it knows that you painted this just for me

and I will take it home and cherish it.
